Ignite sits in dialogue with Unravel, not as its opposite, but as its echo in another register. Here, the structure doesn’t give way—it holds steady, channeling energy into a concentrated, glowing centre.
The rhythmic diagonals set the stage: disciplined, deliberate, a frame of order. But at the heart, colour swells and burns. Squares tilt like shifting tectonic plates, sending out rays of fractured light. The sensation is not of breaking free, but of gathering force—energy drawn inward until it can’t help but radiate out.
Where Unravel leans into release, Ignite speaks of ignition—the charged stillness before movement, the way pressure becomes potential. It’s about holding the fire just long enough for it to transform, to take shape, to light the room in its own time.
It leaves us with a quiet question:
What else might be waiting beneath the surface?
Unravel & Ignite
Together, Unravel and Ignite trace two states within the same emotional arc. Each work begins with a framework—lines and angles that promise order—and each disrupts it in a different way.
In Unravel, the grid loosens, making space for a raw gesture that pushes past containment. In Ignite, the structure holds, concentrating energy at its core until it radiates outward.
They are not opposites but counterparts: one speaking in the language of release, the other in the language of gathering. Seen together, they invite us to consider the shifting balance between holding on and letting go, between the moment a structure serves us and the moment it transforms.
